Tamron is giving away a great all around lens, the 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD (Piezo Drive). Special piezoelectric technology now delivers faster, quieter precision auto focusing. Tamron’s exclusive tri-axial VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization.  I think you could leave this baby on your camera 24- 7!  It looks to be a real workhorse!

I have strictly Canon lenses but I think this lens might be a great addition to my camera bag!  Oh how I want to win that baby, I can travel lighter and not miss those important shots having to switch lenses.

Playing with Florabella textures and actions.

I  absolutely love Florabella textures and actions, they add some really artistic tones and textures giving your photos a very unique look and feel.  Check them out here  On this photo I used 2  textures and one overlay from the textures II set as well as the action Pandora with reduced opacity from the Lux actions set. (scarlett and vintage moss textures and peaches and cream overlay) Special thanks to my beautiful model and daughter Nicole!  Would love to know your favorite!

For this photo I used  only florabella actions from the Lux set in additon to Topaz Adjust, reducing the opacity of the various layers.  (sweet sunshine, sharpen and defog with vignette)

Just a behind the scenes note about this photo.   These photos were shot at the old Galinat homestead outside of Harrold, SD.  Under the old boards is an old abandoned well.  I snapped the photo just as she spotted the cute little masked bandits beneath her.

Bailey~ Senior 2010 – 2011

I drove out to Bailey’s house for her senior shoot.  Bailey lives out in the country on a farm and it is beautiful country out there.  Bailey is a multi talented girl, not only is she very smart, she handles a basketball and volleyball as well as she handles her horses.  No doubt we will be hearing more from Bailey.  Thanks Janet and Eric for your help.  Here are some of my favorites from Bailey’s shoot.

~Ashley~ Castlewood High school 2010 – 2011

Ashley is a beautiful girl with amazing eyes and beautiful skin.  We met in Brookings and my son Casey was my assistant for the day.  We started at the gardens, braving the swarms of mosquitoes, then later headed down town.  It was crazy days so there were a lot of people out and about.  We took some photos by the old Railway Station with Ashley in her prom dress.  She looked amazing confirmed by the whistles of approval from passersby.  We ended her session at the band shelter on SDSU’s campus.  If I sound partial I am,  Ashley is my niece.  She is such a sweet girl and I thoroughly enjoyed taking her senior photos.

Here are a couple shots of my voice activated light stand.  Thanks Casey!
